Firewise Communities USA
In 2004, Saddleridge became a member of the Firewise Communities USA. The Firewise Communities approach emphasizes community responsibility for
planning in the design of a safe community as well as effective emergency
response, and individual responsibility for safer home construction and design,
landscaping, and maintenance.
The Firewise website (www.firewise.org) has considerable information regarding fire safety and personal improvements that can be made.
There are regular newsletters published on the website, and there's a page on the efforts undertaken by Saddleridge residents
(www.firewise.org/usa/saddle_ridge.htm). Take a look at the information available
on their website when you get a chance.
Planning to burn cuttings or
debris any time soon? Need to know what the burn requirements are, or who
to call when you're planning to burn? Take a look at the
Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department
Website for more information about burn requirements.
